Hey, i’m Gawen. I was born in Sarawak, of French-Chinese heritage, and spend most of my time exploring Borneo’s biodiversity. My mission is to experience tropical rainforests around the world, and promote its wildlife through impactful photography.
I was fortunate to travel from an early age. But only when I picked up my first camera was I able to gather all my experiences and understanding into a frame. I spent more time analysing my images (and experiences), and it became a crucial tool in shaping how I viewed the world.
Photographing the natural world merged two things dear to my heart - and i’ve been stuck in the rabbit hole ever since.

I am available for natural history production projects. In the last few years I have worked on amazing productions through BBC, National Geographic, Sky Nature and more.
Experience in wildlife advising, and various technical roles on set.
